LIL POCHA (릴포차)
About This Spot
Stepping into LIL POCHA on Seattle’s Capitol Hill, you’re welcomed by a warm, intimate space that invites spontaneous sharing and quiet conversations. The cozy interior hums with a gentle buzz—K-pop tunes weave through the air, softening the edges of a lively night out without overwhelming the room. Gentle lighting and interesting decor details, like their distinctive crane wallpaper, add a subtle layer of personality that makes the space feel thoughtfully curated, yet effortlessly lived-in.
This neighborhood spot moves at a relaxed pace, perfect for both an easy solo meal or a tight-knit gathering of friends. Tables are modestly sized, encouraging a communal style of dining where dishes arrive in thoughtful succession, inviting everyone to reach across and taste a little bit of everything. The vibe is casual but attentive, with staff who make you feel like a regular from the moment you sit down, easing you into the rhythm of the evening.
At the heart of the experience is the sense of discovery—the menu offers well-loved Korean staples alongside less common gems, rewarding both those familiar with Korean cuisine and newcomers eager to explore. Comforting stews and soups find balance with shareable bites like crispy chicken tossed in a sweet-and-spicy sauce or golden kimchi pancakes that draw you back for another round. The careful touch extends to their beverage lineup as well, where soju, makgeolli, and sake selections quietly complement the food without demanding attention.
What lingers most after a visit to LIL POCHA is a feeling of connection—to the food, to the company, and to a place that knows how to be both comforting and lively without ever feeling rushed or overstated. It’s a spot that welcomes you not just to eat, but to linger and find small moments of joy in shared stories and familiar flavors.

I'm loving this place, it's already become my go-to restaurant on Capitol Hill for Korean food! They have great Korean dishes you'd expect as well as some harder to find options in the Seattle area such as cheesy corn, soondae, pigs foot, and more. They also have a good Soju, sake, and Makgeolli selection. Everything has always been delicious and the service is great.

A restaurant that does not disappoint! I went here with a buddy in search of Korean food and had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and cool, while the food was tasty and a little hot (for my weak palette). Food is perfect for sharing. We didn’t get drinks this visit but I’d love to come back and have some soju. Side note: the crane wallpaper is listed at $570 on Gucci’s website. Wonder if it’s real.

Absolutely legit Korean food served up in a chill spot with the friendliest staff ever! Digged the cozy interior. Plus the soju-themed decorations and K-pop jamming in the background totally set the mood. Major props for easily hosting our squad of 8 too!

I had a fun time with friends at Imo Pocha. We met to celebrate a birthday. The space is cozy, I wouldn't bring more than a table of 4, most of the tables are quite small and you will need to rotate plates as food comes. We ordered a variety of things off the menu, and all were good, but the crispy chicken with rice cakes was probably my favorite. I am a sucker for kimbap in any form - we had it both Fried and Ugly. The decor is cute, and I felt very comfortable here. This would be great for a casual night with friends or a pregame of another event. The restaurant itself is very clean. They are still very new, and it feels that staff is still acclimating to the menu. You must try the red monkey makgeolli, and no night is complete without a somaek tower.

I've come here several times now and feel comfortable giving it a four star review. My biggest critiques are that I find the food to be under-salted and over-spiced. I also don't like the fact that they don't have banchan, but I understand that may not be feasible given the space and their style of food. Other than that I think the experience has been great. The space is really cozy, the food is good, and the staff is very friendly. I will continue to come here in the future, but I personally would like to see a couple small changes to how they season the food.
